Biological approach
The Biological Approach
In the biological approach, we examine the role of biological factors in human behaviour. Biological factors include the brain, neurotransmission, hormones, genetics, evolution, and (potentially) pheromones. The biological approach can be studied through human attraction, psychological disorders such as depression, or health problems such as obesity.
- To what extent is human behaviour inherited?
- To what extent do physiological processes determine our behaviour?
- How do psychologists study the effect of biological factors on human behaviour?
- To what extent is behaviour the result of the interaction of physiology and environment?
- To what extent can psychologists study animals in order to understand human behaviour? (HL only)
