Teachers notes

This is a lesson with three activities and a simple aim, to help students hone their skills so that they can produce clear annotated diagrams of the digestive system. It will, of course, also confirm that they have understood the basic structures of the digestive system and the functions of each organ.

These activities could be set as work for students to do independently, and this approach would save time in lessons. Alternatively (and I prefer this when there is time) it could be a lesson which run itself and gives the teacher time to work alongside students and to assess their individual needs.

There is some potential for differentiation in the second and third tasks.
